Three Oakeshott type XII swords in scabbards.

The scabbard on the left is my own making, albeit over the wood core that I reshaped from an Albion campaign scabbard. The buckle on it is based off of the Trumpington effigy from the 1280s and is my favorite buckle to date, found at Windrose Armoury.

The middle scabbard houses the Albion Knight, but also fits the modified Baron on the left. This scabbard represents high-end work. It is very historic in being made entirely of veg-tanned leather and being lined with sheared wool. A very beautiful piece of work by DBK Scabbards. This is actually fairly plain for his work, without all the tooling, just plain and simple like the originals.

I place the sword on the right here for comparison sake. This is the Valiant Armory Castile Sword, loosely copied from the famous sword in Spain. What makes these swords very attractive and worth the $400 price tag is the nicely done scabbards and grips which offer some of the quality of the previous swords for far less money. The scabbard is included with the sword and nicely done with leather over an unlined wooden core. The belt is not integrated and they cut some corners using rivets, but it gets the job done and is still a far more accurate suspension than the "sword frog" that has been the standard for the past 20 years. I give Valiant Armory credit for offering pieces of this caliber.

Shades of salmon, coral, wild orange, sedona coordinated with deep brown, terracotta & a hint of purple round out this mulitcolored beauty. 78 inches long including the fringe, it's a full bounty of texture and color.
